New Omnichannel Publix to Open at Lakeshore Pavilion in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – January 22, 2019 – Publix will soon open its newest location at Lakeshore Pavilion in Birmingham, Alabama, but when the doors open, shoppers may notice a few differences. As the first omnichannel grocery store in the state of Alabama, Publix at Lakeshore Pavilion – the latest project from MAB American – will provide a seamless shopping experience for individuals shopping both in-store and online.

Featuring new technology, Publix at Lakeshore Pavilion will allow shoppers to easily purchase groceries online and then have them delivered through services like Instacart – a step that further expands Publix’s efforts to offer same-day delivery at all of its stores by 2020. Additionally, shoppers will have the option to pick up their groceries at the store without leaving the car.

For those that like to physically shop for groceries, the Lakeshore Pavilion Publix will still offer the shopping experience that individuals are accustomed to, while offering additional amenities such as a dining area.

Currently under construction, the 49,000 square-foot Publix is expected to open at Lakeshore Pavilion in fall 2019.

Lakeshore Pavilion is located at the southwest corner of Lakeshore Parkway and Shannon Wenonah Road –the gateway to the affluent Ross Bridge subdivision and the Oxmoor Valley Golf Course.
